Meet The Committee

The committee consists of dedicated full time engineers who organise TDA alongside their day jobs.

They each bring a wealth of experience and work in a range of engineering specialities. They’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and having the opportunity to see the exciting projects that are entered.

Dan

Dan

Senior Design Engineer

“Engineering is a fascinating, versatile, and rewarding career path. Maybe you excel in the academic subjects such as Maths or Physics, or perhaps you enjoy getting hands on and creative in Design Technology. Either way, Engineering is the career for you!

I look forward to supporting TDA and Inspiring Future Engineers.”

Faiz

Faiz

Package Lead Engineer

“We live in an exciting era where we are on the brink of a technological revolution led by climate change. It is important for us to encourage the next generation to be at the engineering forefront and find innovative solutions relevant to the problems faced by the world.”

Ian

Ian

Project Lead Engineer

We live in a rapidly changing world, engineering is an incredibly fulfilling career where you can make a real difference in shaping peoples lives and the world.

I’ve joined the Triumph Design Awards team to help play my part in inspiring you, the engineers, entrepreneurs and designers of tomorrow!.”

Jason

Jason

Package Lead Engineer

“Anyone can be an engineer; all we are doing is solving problems and developing solutions. Everything you see around you has been engineered in some form. Engineers have a huge impact on the world and environment we all live in. We need more engineers from all walks of life to help improve everyone’s lives. And you can be a part of that!”

Tina

Tina

Functional Lead Engineer – Electrical

“Having volunteered at the TDA last year I was very impressed by the creativity and initiative shown by all students involved. Their efforts have shown me what a person is really capable of when they apply themselves. I hope that I can play my part in providing the next generation of engineers and designers a platform in which to display their potential.”

Bertie

Bertie

Senior Design Engineer

“Whether you were crossing a bridge and wondering how it could take the weight of all those cars, or watching a hot air balloon, and wondering why it stays up with just hot air, you’re already thinking like an Engineer.

Engineers ask questions like why, or how or why not? We encourage those with curious minds. Could your project be the next industry game-changer like the Internet or the iPhone?”

Des

Des

Specialist Systems Engineer

“I have been fortunate to have been on an exciting and interesting journey through my career in engineering. I still look forward to the challenges each day brings and am proud of the many varied projects I have been involved in during this time.

I am looking forward to being able to inspire future engineers to take their journey through this fascinating field.”

George

George

Design Engineer

“I enjoy engineering because in its simplest form it is problem solving, and our planet has many problems which need solving.

I’m involved in the Triumph Design Awards to encourage, promote and inspire young people to become engineers and help innovate technical solutions to some of our planets biggest issues, number one being the climate crisis.”

Mike

Mike

Design Engineer

Engineering shapes every aspect of our lives, and in my opinion that means upcoming engineers are of great importance to the future.

It’s a great responsibility; more than ever, it’s important to design with technological, economical and environmental factors in mind. I’d like to play a part in helping young inventors consider problems from all angles and contribute to a better world.”
